Official Biography

LC Powell is best known for their work spanning film, television, and recording over the last two decades.

Their work as a producer, music contractor, music casting director, and performer has garnered numerous Grammy® and Emmy® wins and nominations.  She is most recognized from her large catalogue of work on four seasons of Phineas and Ferb as a vocal arranger and vocalist.

With over 100 television and film credits, Mx. Powell serves as voice director, music producer, music contractor, music arranger, and voice actor with clients including Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon, Riot Games, Dreamworks, Disney, Cartoon Network and more.

Passionate about humanitarianism and education after starting in the industry at age seven, LC serves on the SAG–AFTRA Singers Committee, SAG–AFTRA Young Performers Committee, and the Board of Directors for the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers (ASMAC.org).

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ “The Way It Used to Be” for Watchmen (HBO) featuring Mx. Powell’s principal vocal work and production received critical acclaim and was nominated for a 2020 Emmy® award. During their three seasons as music casting director for Elena of Avalor, “Something In The Air” written by John Kavanaugh, Rachel Ruderman, and Craig Gerber heavily featuring a vocal ensemble that LC contracted / music cast and directed was nominated for a 2021 Daytime Emmy® award, rounding out their multiple Emmy® wins and nominations for Outstanding Casting. Other recent selected credits include Disenchanted, Perry Mason, Hocus Pocus 2, Paul McCartney’s Egypt Station, Christmas on the Square with Dolly Parton, The Orville, Marvel’s WandaVision & Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe (vocal arranger & principal vocalist), Cherry, Q: Into The Storm, The Morning Show, Esther Povitsky’s Hot For My Name, Summer Camp Island & Close Enough for HBO Max (vocal director & contractor), Perfect Harmony, American Horror Story, Disenchantment, Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton’s Say Something music video, and The Secret Life of Pets 2.

LC is currently serving as Wayne Brady’s music supervisor, and has also served as one of Michael Bublé’s music contractors and his support vocal director/arranger since 2015. LC was grateful to open for Tony Bennett, Bob Newhart, Howie Mandel, and Lyle Lovett. Previous principal soloist work with Latin American Jazz Orchestra in Mexico City, Owensboro Symphony, Pasadena Symphony & Pops, Phoenix Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra, Santa Rosa Symphony, New West Symphony, United Nations Ambassador Ricky Kej, Atlanta’s Pullman Pops, and Salt Lake City Jazz Orchestra has brought great musical joy, in addition to a 19-year relationship with Laguna Beach’s Festival of the Arts / Pageant of the Masters as Vocal Director/Supervisor/Contractor, Associate Choreographer & Principal Dancer, and Additional Recording Engineer.

Mx. Powell is an East-East Los Angeles native, currently residing in Studio City and Rowland Heights, California with their spouse and seven-year-old maltipoo Luna.
